After a successful previous year of assistance, we further developed and expanded our programs into additional nations around the world. In the war-torn land of Liberia, CWR was able to provide funds for educational programs for thousands of needy children as well as providing clothes and personal hygiene kits for innocent victims. In the Philippines, we provided desperately under-supplied hospitals and clinics with medicines, surgical supplies and toys for young patients. And in Afghanistan, we were able to send medical supplies and food to clinics treating victims of years of warfare and neglect. Christian World Relief conducts its programs in partnership with local development agencies, village and community leaders and other international organizations. In this spirit of cooperation we can assist the greatest number of children at the lowest cost. These and many other projects were achieved with an overhead (management and fundraising) of just 2%. This allowed us to place 98% of our total support and revenue nto program services. Christian World Relief does not have any permanent staff at the present. Our administrative services are provided by consultants and members of the board of directors who also serve without pay. Our board members include Dr. Thomas Pearson, president, Michael G. Lewis, vice president and Fay Owsley, secretary-treasurer. Program activities were conducted in 2003-2004 in the following countries: | |||||||
