After years of a more limited program focus, we further developed our programs in several nations around the world. In the war-torn lands of the Balkans, CWR was able to provide medicines, medical supplies, food and clothing to 5000 needy children as well as war refugees and homeless victims in Kosovo. These shipments were made just weeks before the onset of winter. In the Philippines, we provided desperately under-supplied hospitals and clinics with medicines, surgical supplies and toys for young patients. Also in the Philippines, we were able to help build a rural health care clinic and school as well as provide tuition and health costs for students. Christian World Relief conducts its programs in partnership with local development agencies, village and community leaders and other international organizations. In this spirit of cooperation we can assist the greatest number of children at the lowest cost. These and many other projects were achieved with an overhead (management and fundraising) of just 0.2%. This allowed us to place more than 99% of our total support and revenue into program services. Christian World Relief does not have any permanent staff at the present. Our administrative services are provided by consultants and members of the board of directors who also serve without pay. Our board members include Dr. Thomas Pearson, president, Michael G. Lewis, vice president and Fay Owsley, secretary-treasurer. Program activities have been conducted in 2001-2002
